POLSON — Police thwarted a 25-year old woman’s attempt to jump off the Armed Forces Memorial Bridge in Polson on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release, Polson police responded to the scene after receiving calls from passersby that they thought the woman may jump. Responding officers closed off the bridge as they spoke with the woman, and Polson Fire was alerted to the situation so they could activate their rescue boat. A Polson ambulance was posted at Riverside Park, but officers grabbed the woman before she could jump. She was transported to St. Joseph Hospital, and the bridge was reopened to traffic.
