Jeanne (Zeits) Tasnady, 84, of Stevensville, passed away peacefully on Jan. 20, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 28, 1925, in Detroit, to Harry R. and Golda (McGuire) Zeits. She attended Jefferson High School in Portland and graduated Nov. 29, 1946, from the Dalles Hospital of Nursing as a registered nurse. She married John D. Tasnady on June 17, 1948, in Eugene, Ore. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1976. Throughout the years Jeanne enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and sewing, but most of all being with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Ann and Robert Houghton, and Amy and Richard Mack, of Stevensville; her son, Richard, and Sherrie Tasnady, of Felton, Calif.; her two sisters, Jo and George Engdahl of Stevensville, and Rae Ellen Zeits of Kalispell; and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all the nurses, aides and staff who took such good care of our mother during her stay at Village Health Care Center. A private family burial will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery in Stevensville.
