LHS drama team takes 2nd at divisionals

The Libby High School drama team finished runner-up at last weekend’s Northwestern A divisional tournament in Whitefish.
Polson dominated the drama portion of the divisional tournament with 147 points. Libby came in second with 64 points to edge out Ronan’s 61.
Jolee Holder and Miranda Raab were crowned district champs in the Serious Duo competition. Libby got second-place performances from Paige Bothman and Jason Schikora in Humorous Duo and Mike Wise in Humorous Solo.
Other top-six finishers included Jessica Broderick and Justin Lauer (Humorous Duo, fourth), Wise and Elizabeth Rogers (Classical Duo, fifth), Eli Miller and Erin Rogers (Classical Duo, sixth) and John Vinion (Pantomime, third).
The top six in each event advance to the state tournament. State is scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Corvallis.

Troy Softball Takes Two From Drummond
The Drummond High School softball team rolled into Troy Saturday with high hopes of ending a long streak of being on the wrong end of the score, and for half of the first game of the doubleheader, looked like they had every chance of doing just that. However the host Trojans exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then shut down Drummond in the top of the fifth, winning 14-3. Troy kept the bats hot in the second game, plating 21 runs to end that game early as well, 21-11.
Action on Quiet Waters Initiative expected May 26
The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission will act on the Quiet Waters rule proposal in a meeting rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 26 at Montana WILD.
