Wrestling: Libby wins 4 of 5 at Class A Duals

The Libby High School wrestling squad won four of five matchups during the Class A Duals at Lewistown on Friday and Saturday.

Libby posted victories over Livingston, 59-21, Browning, 61-19, Miles City, 43-30 and Hardin, 59-27. The lone loss came to Glendive, 42-31.

Michael Roby and Kyle Sweedman finished the tournament with perfect records. Roby, who wrestles at 125 pounds, won all four of his matches by decision. Sweedman, who saw time at both 171 and 189 pounds, pinned each of his four opponents in under a minute.

Competing at 215 pounds, Logan Neubauer won his only match in the dual against Livingston to give LHS three unbeatens.

Other top competitors for the Greenchain included Cody Elliott (140, 2-1), Kyle Leir (135, 3-1), Dylan Berget (145, 3-1) and Austin Bailey (3-1, 160).

Libby plays host to Columbia Falls on Thursday and Whitefish on Friday.

Troy Softball Takes Two From Drummond

The Drummond High School softball team rolled into Troy Saturday with high hopes of ending a long streak of being on the wrong end of the score, and for half of the first game of the doubleheader, looked like they had every chance of doing just that. However the host Trojans exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then shut down Drummond in the top of the fifth, winning 14-3. Troy kept the bats hot in the second game, plating 21 runs to end that game early as well, 21-11.
