Training groups ready to hit the road at Fleet Feet

A trio of training groups starting soon at Fleet Feet Sports offers something for every kind of runner, from beginners who wish to complete a 5K to those hardy enough to handle a half marathon.

Fleet Feet's No Boundaries walk-to-run 5K program, the intermediate-level Running 101 course for would-be 10K runners, and the FF Training Group for intermediate and advanced runners will kick off the summer/fall training sessions.

"No Boundaries is designed to take absolute beginners with little or no running background and train them to complete their first 5K," said Fleet Feet co-owner Garth Merrill. "The Running 101 course is the next step. It's ideal for those who completed the No Boundaries program in the spring, or for those who can already run about three miles and want to take their fitness to the next level."

The target event for the 12-week No Boundaries class will be the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Coeur d'Alene Sept. 26. The final exam for Running 101 will be the 10K at the Scenic Half Marathon and 10K in Sandpoint Sept. 19.

No Boundaries and Running 101 will meet Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m. The FF Training Group meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m.
