Mum's the word in the battle over open financial books and request for a new election of officers at the Post Falls American Legion. The controversy comes as the state Legion convention featuring state and national officials comes to town next week.

Several members have filed a lawsuit claiming they were wrongfully suspended from the organization, that the financials haven't been open to members at large and the election in April lacked oversight. Long-time Commander John Dunlap said today that on the advice of his attorney, he can’t comment on the issue. - Brian Walker
