A man died in a collision involving three motorcycles and one van on state Route 17, seven miles south of Othello, Wednesday afternoon.

OTHELLO — A man died in a collision involving three motorcycles and one van on state Route 17, seven miles south of Othello, Wednesday afternoon.

Kenneth C. Owens, 55, Redmond, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Washington State Patrol reported Thursday.

John Mosley, 61, Cle Elum, was traveling northbound on the highway in a 2002 Ford Econoline van, the state patrol reported.

Mosley reportedly crossed the center line, striking Owens and another southbound motorcycle rider, Robert E. Owens, 76, Langley, the state patrol advised.

Willard C. Michael, 73, Freeland, was traveling on a motorcycle and was struck by collision debris.

Mosley was not injured.

Robert Owens was airlifted to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland for reported internal injuries and an injured hand, the state patrol reported.

Willard was not injured.

The state patrol reported the cause of the collision was allegedly due to Mosley crossing the center line. Citations are under investigation.

Drugs and alcohol were not involved in the collision, the state patrol advised.

The van and two motorcycles were totaled and towed from the scene. One motorcycle sustained $100 in damage and was driven from the scene.
