Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre donated more than 700 tickets to underserved families to see "Cinderella" by the Coeur d'Alene Summer Threatre on Saturday in Boswell Hall.

The families are affiliated with Make a Wish Foundation, CASA, Anchor House, Children's Village, Boys and Girls Club, the foster care program, YMCA, Coeur d'Alene Tribe, Wishing Star and the Women's Center.

To help cover the cost of this extra show, Summer Theatre sold the remainder of the house to families for only $15 a ticket, received some private donations and secured a small grant.

"Taking this project on was a financial risk to say the least but now over 1,100 people will get to see this magical performance that most likely would not have been able to otherwise," wrote Laura Little, Summer Threatre executive director.

"Cinderella" will be performed through July 17 at Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre-Schuler Auditorium in Boswell Hall. Evening shows are 7:30 and matinees at 2 p.m.

The show features Ellen Travolta as the wicked step mother, Jack Bannon as the King and Annie and Margaret Travolta as the evil step-sisters.

For tickets, call 769-7780 or go to www.cdasummertheatre.com

Tickets range from $25-$39.
