Trials related to killing delayed

The Daily Inter Lake and The Associated Press | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 15 years, 5 months AGO

The trials have been delayed for five people accused in the bludgeoning death and robbery of a medical marijuana patient in Kalispell.

The trials for Kalispell residents Robert Lake, Jeffrey Nixon, Karrolyn Robinson, Cody Naldrett and Joshua Fritz now are scheduled to begin Oct. 25.

The first trials originally were set for July 12.

Lake, 21, and Nixon, 19, have each been charged with deliberate homicide, robbery and tampering with physical evidence.

They are accused of using hammers to beat Wesley Collins, 49, to death, then stealing his money and medical marijuana plants and trying to cover up the crime.

Naldrett, 27, allegedly helped Lake and Nixon remove Collins’ body from his apartment and drag it into the woods.

He faces felony charges of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

Fritz, 21, is charged with burgling Collins’ home, evidence tampering, theft and obstructing a police officer.

Robinson, 19, is charged with burglary, theft and tampering.

Collins’ body was discovered April 17 in a remote wooded area southwest of Kalispell.

All the suspects have pleaded innocent to the charges.
