David Scott Parrett, 40, died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at home in Columbia Falls. He was born on Jan. 24, 1970, in Pasadena, Calif., to Russell Griffith and Nancy Lee (Lippincott) Parrett. David graduated from Big Bear High School and then attended BYU Idaho for one semester. He went on to serve a mission in Leeds, England, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Returning to Montana, David met Jacquelyn Jones in Missoula and they were married on Nov. 11, 1991. He continued his education by attending the University of Montana Technical College, graduating with an Associate s Degree in Diesel Technology. After graduation, the family moved to Sparks, Nev., where David worked for Smith Detroit Diesel for three years. Moving back to Montana and Columbia Falls, David worked for Long s Machinery, N.W. Parts and Riggings, Columbia Falls High School and NAPA Auto Parts. David loved being outdoors with his family, especially taking the boys camping, hunting and fishing. He spent many hours reading and studying the scriptures and was very creative and artistic, a characteristic he passed on to his children. David is preceded in death by an infant son, Jobe, in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Jacque Parrett; two daughters, Quwenci and Zoie; two sons, Cole and Sawyer; his parents, Russ and Nancy Parrett; a sister, Debbie Hopkins and husband Carl, all of Columbia Falls; two brothers, Chris Parrett and wife, Sue of Rigby, Idaho, and Richard Parrett and wife, Julie of Reno, Nev., as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services for David will be held at 10 a.m Monday, July 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Columbia Falls. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the Relief Society room. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
