A Sagle mother injured Sunday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident in which her 2-year-old daughter was killed is in stable condition at Bonner General Hospital this morning, a supervisor at the hospital said.

A 5-year-old passenger, Tyson Ruel, was injured in the accident on Highway 200. He was taken to Bonner General and then transferred to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where he is listed in stable condition this morning, hospital officials there said.

The mother, 18-year-old Ashlee Price, crashed her 1997 Toyota 4-Runner about 7 miles east of Kootenai near Pack River, the Idaho State Police said.

Her daughter, 2-year-old Katlyn Price, died, police said.

Ashlee Price was driving westbound on the highway when she drove off the shoulder of the roadway, over-corrected, and the vehicle overturned, police said.

The  vehicle rolled down an embankment and came to rest on its  top in about 4 feet of water.

Passers-by stopped and turned the vehicle onto its side and pulled Katlyn Price and Ruel out of the vehicle. Ashlee Price was ejected in the crash.

The accident occurred before 2 p.m. Sunday. Police said they are still investigating. — David Cole
