COEUR d'ALENE - A two-car collision at Seltice Way and Riverstone Drive on Monday left both vehicles totaled and one utility pole broken.

According to Coeur d'Alene police, Debbie Zorrozua of Yakima, Wash., and her grandson were pulling a trailer eastbound on Seltice Way in a Ford F-250 about noon when they collided with Jennifer Rova, who was westbound in a Toyota Avalon on Seltice.

Police said Rova was trying to turn left in front of Zorrozua onto Riverstone Drive when the accident happened.

"I swerved to avoid her, but was unable to," Zorrozua said with tears in her eyes.

After the initial collision, Zorrozua drifted into a utility pole, snapping it in two. The pole came to rest on her vehicle.

Both drivers were treated and released at Kootenai Medical Center.

Police said Seltice Way traffic was delayed while the utility pole was removed.

Zorrozua was traveling from Yakima to Montana to attend the Montana 200 auto race.
