Dean McEvers, 74, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away July 4, 2010, at home. He was born in Oakley on March 28, 1936. Dean has joined his beloved bride, Joan McEvers, who passed in October 2009. Together again! Dean was in the grocery business most of his life, retired from Vons in Los Angeles, and finished his career with Rosauers in Coeur d'Alene.

An avid fisherman and dedicated father and husband, Dean was a gentle and quiet soul, always putting family before himself. Dean and Joan were the driving and economical force behind Rustlers Roost Restaurant. Sons, Daren and Woody have operated Rustlers Roost since 1983 with the passions instilled by Dean and Joan, hard work, compassion, responsibility and taking care of their customers.

Dean is survived by his four children and their spouses, Woody and Shannon, Brent and Sheryl, Daren and Terry, and Bridget. Dean leaves behind nine grandchildren, Heather, Devin, Tia Rose, Chelsea, Caleb, Elijah, Trevor, Jared and Mikayla, and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrew.
