Kootenai Valley's Holder throws no-hitter, Soderling 1-hitter vs. Libby

EUREKA — Ryan Holder threw his first American Legion baseball no-hitter and teammate Josh Soderling tossed a 1-hitter in the opener of Tuesday’s doubleheader as Kootenai Valley swept Libby 2-1 and 4-2 in Northwestern A league play.

The victories push Kootenai Valley to 7-3 in league, 27-27 overall.

Libby slips to 5-5 in Northwestern A, 25-25 overall.

Caleb Curtiss singled to left field to drive in two runs in the third inning of the opener for Kootenai Valley.

Libby’s Tate Wilson singled in the fifth inning to break up Soderling’s no-hit bid.

Soderling finished with seven strikeouts and walked three batters.

 Holder also had seven strikeouts.

Kootenai Valley is back in action Sunday hosting Glacier, 1 p.m.
