Kelly wins Rosauers; Grove ties for sixth

SPOKANE - Former Eastern Washington University golfer Kyle Kelly shot a 2-under-par 69 on Sunday for a 15-under total of 198 and won the 54-hole Rosauers Open by one stroke at Indian Canyon Golf Course.

Kelly, from Tamarisk Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., won by one stroke over Brandon Kearney from the Bend (Ore.) Golf and Country Club, who closed with a final-round 64. Kelly earned $11,000 from the $135,000 purse. Kearney pocketed $7,350.

Corey Prugh of Manito Golf and Country Club in Spokane, the defending champion, was two strokes back at 200 after a 67. He won $5,250.

Amateur Russell Grove of Avondale, who played at Coeur d'Alene High and the University of Idaho, tied for sixth at 203 after a final-round 69. He was second low amateur.

Chris Mitchell of the Portland Golf Club, a former Coeur d'Alene Public pro, tied for eighth at 205 after shooting 71.

Amateur Taylor Porter, who played at Coeur d'Alene High and Community Colleges of Spokane, shot a 71 for a 210. Brent Walsh (Hayden Lake Country Club) and amateur Kyler Gable (Coeur d'Alene High, CC Spokane), tied at even-par 213. Walsh shot 70, Gable 75 on Sunday.

Brent Wolf (Coeur d'Alene Public) shot 77 and finished at 215, as did Josh Gold (StoneRidge), who shot 73 on Sunday.
