COEUR d'ALENE - The Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen needed one win Sunday night to eliminate a logjam for second place in the class AA North Idaho League.

After dropping the first game to Trail 7-6, the Lums came back to win the second game 6-2 and claim the second seed to the Area A (district) tournament, which begins Thursday at Post Falls High.

"That was our goal, to get the second seed," Coeur d'Alene coach Lloyd Duman said. "We are still a work in progress."

Lewis-Clark (31-6, 16-0 NIL) is the No. 1 seed, followed by Coeur d'Alene (19-25, 9-7), Prairie (13-25, 8-8), Trail (18-21, 7-9) and Cranbrook (8-30, 0-16).

In Thursday's first-round games, Trail plays Cranbrook and Coeur d'Alene faces Prairie. Times are TBA. Lewis-Clark plays the Trail-Cranbrook winner on Friday.
