Examiner hearing delayed

Delayed a little longer.
The upcoming examiner hearing over Edgewood Log Structures' request to run a sawmill and woodworking business on its 82 acres in Athol has been rescheduled.
Previously set for Aug. 19, the hearing is now set for 6 p.m. Oct. 7 in room 1 of the Kootenai County Administration Building.
Brian Schafer, owner of Edgewood Log Structures, requested a later date because out-of-town business had stalled his progress on the application, said Sandy Young with E2 Planning and Design.
"He just needs a little more time to get his presentation ready and for him to just tie up some loose ends with the public agencies that are involved," said Young, who is working with Schafer on the permit application.
The county issued a stop work order on parcels of Edgewood Log Structures in January over business operations that were outside the company's current permit.
Schafer had sued the county for the order, but agreed to set the lawsuit aside for now and pursue a new permit.
