Julyamsh Pow Wow starts Friday

POST FALLS — The Julyamsh Coeur d'Alene Tribal Encampment and Pow Wow will be held at the Greyhound Park and Event Center Friday through Sunday.

Hours are 8 a.m. to midnight Friday, 9 a.m. to midnight Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is free.

Grand entries will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

More than 1,000 dancers and 55 drum groups from tribes from throughout the region are expected to participate.

The event also includes an art show and auction featuring the work of 30 artists, a horse parade that kicks off each session, craft and food vendors. - Brian Walker
