They're coming in droves, and they're leaving their pants behind.

Sun Meadow Resort, the family-friendly nudist resort in Worley, will be hosting the 2010 American Association For Nude Recreation National Convention this year, from Aug. 6 - 15.

It's a pretty big deal, said resort owner Mike Capshaw.

The convention location is rotated around the country every year, he said.

"It isn't like something that's going to happen here very often," he said.

He thinks the resort was selected because of its experience hosting regional conventions, as well as its unique trend of scheduling musical performers from across the country.

He predicted about 400 will attend.

"I don't think it will hurt (the local economy)," he said.

Besides workshops on health and fitness, the convention will also include volleyball tournaments, yoga and water aerobics.

Inappropriate behavior isn't allowed, he said.

"We tell people, if it won't fly in a mall, it won't fly here," Capshaw said.

Anyone is welcome. The convention cost is $10, though there are additional resort fees.- Alecia Warren
