Post Falls puts brakes on BMX park plan

POST FALLS — A proposal to build a BMX park in Post Falls is on hold.

The City Council last year agreed to the concept and city staff developed a list of site options.

A site along Interstate-90 at Seltice Way and Chase Road rose as the preferred site, but a local BMX association has decided to pass, City Administrator Eric Keck said.

"It is apparently too small and would not accommodate the parking that they anticipated," Keck said, adding the city will continue to explore options.

The optimal site would be centrally-located in the city, close to Centennial Trail where bikers could access the park from and on relatively flat ground, proponents say. - Brian Walker
