Shannon succumbed to her four year fight against cancer on July 17, 2010. She was born in Spokane on October 14, 1959, and spent her childhood in the Spokane area. She settled in the Moses Lake area after years of living in states from California to Washington D.C. She attended Columbia Basin Community College, finishing with a welding certificate. She had just started working as a welder when she was diagnosed with cancer.

Shannon leaves two children, Amber Burks and Jacob Dale; two granddaughters, Aaijana, age 5, and Alaijah, age 1; parents, Sharon and Bill Beck; sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandmother, and biological father.

Shannon joined Narcotics Anonymous in Moses Lake and was clean for seven years. She leaves a multitude of friends in her NA family.

Darren Friesen will officiate at the memorial service at Shannon’s mother’s house in Otis Orchards, to begin at 2:00 pm on July 31, 2010. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur, Spokane, WA 99202.
