Red Sox sweep Angels on slam

Marco Scutaro hit a tiebreaking grand slam in the eighth inning, and the Boston Red Sox wrapped up a 10-game West Coast road trip with a 7-3 victory over the slumping Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday at Anaheim, Calif., sweeping the three-game series.
Kevin Youkilis tied it with a seventh-inning homer, while Adrian Beltre and Bill Hall hit early inning solo shots as the Red Sox improved to 7-0 this season against the club that sent them home from last season's playoffs.
Josh Beckett (2-1) yielded five hits over seven innings in his first victory since April 10 for Boston.
Athletics 3, Rangers 1: At Arlington, Texas, Trevor Cahill allowed two hits over eight innings, Kurt Suzuki homered and drove in two runs and Oakland beat Texas.
Rays 7, Tigers 4: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Tampa Bay got out of a seventh-inning jam for the second consecutive game after intentionally walking AL triple crown contender Miguel Cabrera with runners on first and second and two outs en route to a win over Detroit.
Yankees 8, Indians 0: Alex Rodriguez had two hits, but not homer No. 600, to support another sharp outing by a resurgent A.J. Burnett and New York won at Cleveland.
Twins 6, Royals 4: Delmon Young had a three-run homer and Minnesota finished a three-game sweep at Kansas City.
Blue Jays 5, Orioles 0: Rookie left-hander Brad Mills pitched seven innings for his first major league win, Lyle Overbay hit a three-run homer and host Toronto earned its 12th consecutive victory over Baltimore.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Astros 8, Cubs 1: Carlos Lee hit two home runs, including the go-ahead homer in the sixth, and Houston routed visiting Chicago.
Reds 10, Brewers 2: Brandon Phillips hit a 450-foot grand slam, leading Cincinnati at Milwaukee.
Cardinals 8, Mets 7, 13 inn.: Albert Pujols drove in the go-ahead run with two outs in the 13th, leading St. Louis at New York.
Pirates 6, Rockies 2: At Denver, Garrett Jones homered twice and Pittsburgh beat Colorado.
Padres 6, Dodgers 1: Jerry Hairston Jr. drove in three runs and NL West-leading San Diego beat visiting Los Angeles.
Phillies 7, Diamondbacks 1: Roy Halladay threw a six-hitter, top prospect Domonic Brown had two hits and two RBIs in his major league debut, and host Philadelphia beat Arizona.
Braves 3, Nationals 1: Rookie Jason Heyward gave Atlanta its first steal of home in a decade, and Tim Hudson shut down Washington the way he almost always does, helping the NL East-leading Braves beat the host Nationals.
Giants 10, Marlins 9, 10 inn.: Andres Torres hit a ground-rule single with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 10th to lift San Francisco past visiting Florida.
