Charlene Marie Shipley, 72, Moses Lake resident, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Columbia Crest Care & Rehabilitation Center in Moses Lake.

Charlene Marie Shipley, 72, Moses Lake resident, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Columbia Crest Care & Rehabilitation Center in Moses Lake. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Pastor Floyd Wilks officiating. Charlene was born March 12, 1938 to Elmer & Angeline Allen in Sedro-Woolley, Washington where she was raised and educated. She married Clyde Shipley in 1957 and made their home in Sedro-Woolley until moving to Burlington, WA in 1966. In the early 1980's she moved to Mt. Vernon, Washington. Clyde passed away in 2002 and Charlene moved to Moses Lake in 2003 to be near her daughter.

Charlene enjoyed the time she spent with friends over lunch or playing Bunko. She also loved her cat and enjoyed listening to country music.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue & Rueben Tastad of Moses Lake; 3 grandchildren, Aaron Tastad and his friend, Marisa Lemke of Seattle, Aimee and her husband Marco Martinez of Maryland, and Dustin Tastad of Moses Lake. She is also survived by a great-grandson, Thomas Tastad; and her best friend Jane Rocha.

The family suggests memorials be made to American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
