COEUR d'ALENE - Today's fourth-annual Dentistry From the Heart event will offer free dental work for anyone 18 and older.
The event will be held at A Center For Dental Health at 2615 Fruitland Lane on July 30 from 7 a.m. to noon.
Services will include cleanings, fillings and extractions.
Attendees should arrive early because lines form quickly and are expected to be long.
Dentistry From the Heart is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free dental care for those in need.
In 2009, Dentistry From the Heart provided more than $3 million in services to around 12,000 patients across 37 states.
In 2010, the organization estimates they will provide services to around 30,000 patients at more than 250 events across the United States and Canada.
According to Kristen Blomberg of A Center for Dental Health, special thanks should be given to the restaurants and grocery stores that help to feed all the volunteers.
"The one thing that would help this event grow in future years would be if more dentists would join us in our efforts to give back," Blomberg said. "This will be the second year that doctors from Tooth Acres will be donating their time, which is excellent, but if we had more doctors we would be able treat many more people."
