When lightning strikes

Lightning strikes illuminated the sky last Thursday night, and the map above illustrates where lightning hit the ground. According to the DNRC Dispatch Center in Kalispell, approximately 270 lightning strikes touched ground in and around the Lake County borders, with about 200 touching land inside the county. Of those 200, approximately 11 of those strikes were positive strikes, meaning they are more likely to start a fire.

Maidens lose two

Sophomore Nina Orozco dives for a ball during the Tip-off tournament. Against Big Sky last Tuesday, Ronan lost 63-13. Junior Jonna Grant led with four points and went two-for-two at the free throw line. Last Saturday, the Maidens lost 40-33 to Mission. Orozco led with nine points.
