Alex Rodriguez hit his second grand slam of the season and Andy Pettitte was nearly unhittable again in the daytime, helping the host New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians 11-2 Monday.
Pettitte pitched seven innings, allowing three singles and Jhonny Peralta's 100th career homer, while striking out five without a walk. He retired his last 14 batters.
Angels 7, Royals 1: Ervin Santana pitched seven strong innings and visiting Los Angeles roughed up Luke Hochevar early on the way to beating Kansas City.
Mike Napoli hit a two-run homer, Juan Rivera and Maicer Izturis each had solo shots off Hochevar.
Athletics 4, Tigers 1: Trevor Cahill won his third straight start, allowing one run on five hits in 6 1/3 innings and visiting Oakland beat Detroit.
Blue Jays 3, Rays 2: Former Seattle Mariner Brandon Morrow pitched seven strong innings, and host Toronto threw out the potential tying run at the plate in the ninth inning.

Braves 9, Phillies 3: Chipper Jones and Troy Glaus homered to back a strong start by Tommy Hanson and help host Atlanta move into first place in the National League East by beating Philadelphia.
The Braves, winners of six straight, are one-half game ahead of Philadelphia, which has dropped two straight and nine of 13.
Rockies 4, Giants 0: Ubaldo Jimenez pitched a four-hitter to become the majors' first 10-game winner this year, outpitching Tim Lincecum to lead visiting Colorado past San Francisco.
Marlins 13, Brewers 5: At Miami, Cody Ross hit a three-run homer to spark Florida's biggest inning this year, Cameron Maybin hit an inside-the-park home run to help turn the game into a runaway and the Marlins erased an early four-run deficit in beating Milwaukee.
Pirates 2, Cubs 1: Pinch-hitter Bobby Crosby singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, Garrett Jones homered and host Pittsburgh beat Chicago to end a five-game losing streak.
Nationals 14, Astros 4: Carlos Maldonado and Ryan Zimmerman hit three-run homers off Chris Sampson to lift visiting Washington past Houston.
Cardinals 12, Reds 4: Albert Pujols Pujols extended his streak of reaching base to nine straight plate appearances with two intentional walks and had an RBI for host St. Louis, which beat Cincinnati.
Dodgers 5, Diamondbacks 4: A balk by Esmerling Vasquez allowed Casey Blake to score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth and lift host Los Angeles over Arizona.
Padres 18, Mets 6: Chase Headley had a homer among his four hits as host San Diego beat New York.
