The Post Falls and Lakeland school districts recently honored their employees and retirees during separate banquets.

Post Falls teachers of the year include: Lisa Edinger, Frederick Post Kindergarten; Courtney Curtis, Mullan Trail Elementary; Vicki Loberg, West Ridge Elementary; Anne Bryan, Ponderosa Elementary; Alice Page, Seltice Elementary; Jamie Pine, Prairie View Elementary; Ben Johnson, River City Middle School; Carol Jackson, Post Falls Middle School; Jim Freeman, New Vision High; and Lara Schoener, Post Falls High.

Support staff honorees include: Betty Wilkerson, Mullan Trail; April Kahabka, West Ridge; Judy Grolla, Post Falls Middle School; Jill Stowers, Ponderosa; Nancy Ingalls, Seltice; Pam Mitchell, Post Falls High; Michele Lewey, Frederick Post; Laurie Reynolds, Prairie View; and Melissa Heck, River City.

Post Falls retirees, followed by their starting year, include: Greg Cossette, PFHS teacher, 1974; Jon Coffin, River City teacher, 1983; Sandy Newell, Prairie View teacher, 1970; Carol Carlson, PFHS vice principal, 1977; Jon Wilkerson, technology director, 1977; Judy Owen, Mullan Trail library assistant, 1996; Gail Teeter, Ponderosa teacher, 1980; Skip Eagle, PFHS teacher, 2005; and Marilyn Cain, Seltice counselor, 1994.

At the Lakeland ceremony, John Klingaman, Mountain View Alternative School head teacher, and Darrell Rickard, transportation director, received Superintendent's Legacy Awards from Mary Ann Ranells.

John Brown's Ana Vazquez-Schnepf was named Elementary Teacher of the Year. She was also chosen by the school board as the District Teacher of the Year.

Timberlake Junior High's Keith Neuberger was named Secondary Teacher of the Year.
