RATHDRUM - The 14-week premature identical twin boys of Rathdrum residents Brandon and Kristina Scarcello are improving at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

Logan weighed 2 pounds, 1 ounce and Hunter 2 pounds, 5 ounces when they were born on Easter.

Logan is now 4 pounds, 4 ounces and Hunter 5 pounds.

Kristina said she expects they'll be able to come home in three to six weeks. She and Brandon are 2003 Lakeland High graduates.

A benefit account called "Scarcello babies" has been set up at Panhandle State Bank branches to assist the family with medical bills and traveling expenses. The family has medical insurance, but it has a cap and the family will face ongoing bills even after the babies are discharged for therapy sessions.
