L.A.'s Weaver outduels Kansas City's Greinke

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Jered Weaver outpitched Zack Greinke in seven scoreless innings and Torii Hunter homered for the second straight game, helping the visiting Los Angeles Angels beat the Kansas City Royals 5-4 on Thursday.

Weaver was sharp for the fourth straight start, getting his first win since May 7 behind a suddenly-hitting Los Angeles offense that knocked around Greinke.

"It's like your report card," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "We've been kind of swimming upstream for a while, working very, very hard. It's certainly not where we want to end up - we think we're a better team than .500 - but we're going to keep playing hard and that record will let you know how you're doing like a report card."

White Sox 4, Rangers 3: Carlos Quentin hit a two-run homer in the seventh and Chicago rallied past visiting Texas.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Astros 6, Nationals 4: Carlos Lee hit a two-run homer in the ninth and host Houston rallied past Washington.

Braves 4, Dodgers 3: Troy Glaus homered for the fourth time in five games, and Atlanta won at Los Angeles.

Marlins 3, Brewers 2: At Miami, Fla., Ronny Paulino drove in two runs to help Florida beat Milwaukee.
