FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Cody Bartlett's two-run homer with two out in the eighth inning lifted Washington State to an 8-6 win over Kansas State on Friday night in the Fayetteville Regional.

The Cougars (35-20) rallied from a 6-3 deficit with three runs in the seventh, then took the lead on Bartlett's shot to left-center off Wildcats reliever James Allen. It was the first home run allowed by Allen (5-1) this season.

Washington State advances to play Arkansas (41-18) tonight at 5 PDT, while Kansas State (36-21) will take on Grambling State (22-31) in an elimination game. Arkansas defeated Grambling State 19-7.

Former Lake City High standout Kyle Johnson went 1 for 4 with an RBI and run scored for the Cougars.

WSU junior shortstop Shea Vucinich, a former Coeur d'Alene standout, was recently named all-Pac-10 Conference honorable mention.
