Post Falls Days parade today

POST FALLS - The Post Falls Days Grand Parade will be held today at 11 a.m. on Seltice Way from Frederick to Idaho.

The carnival at Q'emiln Park runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and there will be food and craft vendors open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Music runs from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

There will also be an open house at the Kootenai County Fire and Rescue station on Idaho Street from noon to 3 p.m.

The event concludes on Sunday.

Free shuttle bus rides to the park will be offered today, after the parade, until 6 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. from Red Lion Templin's Hotel, 414 E. First Ave., and from City Hall, 408 N. Spokane St. The bus departs ever 15 minutes. Parking at the park can be difficult to find at peak times.

Here is the Post Falls Days schedule (all activities are at Q'emiln Park unless otherwise noted):

11 a.m.-8 p.m. - food and craft vendors

10 a.m.-10 p.m. - carnival

11 a.m. - Grand Parade on Seltice Way

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - Albeni Falls Pipes (bag pipes)

noon-2:30 p.m. - Panhandle Polecats (bluegrass)

noon-3 p.m. - fire station open house, 404 N. Idaho St.

12:45-1:30 p.m. - Dick Frost (magic)

1:30 p.m. - McDonald's Big Wheel race

2-4:30 p.m. - Kathy Colton and the Reluctants (bluegrass, folk, country)

3-5:30 p.m. - Lonesome Lyle (blues, folk)

6-8 p.m. - Ryan Larson Band (country)

6-9 p.m. - Somebody's Hero (rock)

SUNDAY

noon-5 p.m. - carnival, food and craft vendors

10 a.m.-1 p.m. - kids fishing derby, Falls Park (registration 9 a.m. - no registration once derby starts)

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - Bill Bozly (folk rock, pop, alternative country)

noon-2:30 p.m. - Homegrown (country)

1-2:30 p.m. - Paul Matta and Pat Coast (rhythm and blues)

3-5 p.m. - Bones, Bolan and Nelson (bluegrass)

3-5 p.m. - Israel David (country)
