Whitefish 2010 graduate Connor Silliker has signed to play basketball for the Bulldogs at the University of Mon-tana-Wes-tern in Dillon.

The 6-6 forward was Whitefish's leading scorer in 2010, averaging more than 12 points a game. He was second in the league in rebounds and third in blocked shots.

"I think he's going to fit in great at Western," Whitefish coach Mark Casazza said. "He likes to play on the outside more, he's a big guy and a great ball handler who can put the ball on the floor. That's what they're looking for. They play up tempo, and I think it's a perfect fit for him."

Montana Western plays in the Frontier Conference and is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The men's basketball team has won the NAIA title eight times, including the 2010 championship.

Silliker's father Chad played football at Western and his grandfather Jack played football and basketball there. His mother is also from Dillon.
