Adventure Sports Week events continue today at Farragut State Park.

David Adlard, one of the ASW organizers, said, "It's really turning out to be a good year."

He said there were many last-minute sign-ups for events last weekend.

Today, the Midnight Ramble adventure race starts at 6 p.m., with a check-in time of 3 p.m. The race will take teams into the morning hours Saturday. Competitors will be traveling by kayak, mountain bike and foot.

Other adventure races are scheduled for this weekend, and Adlard said some athletes will be competing in more than one.

The Crux starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, and includes mountain biking, kayaking, trekking, and, it's true, a roller coaster ride as part of the challenge. Check-in for The Crux is 6 a.m.

The Crucible adventure race follows at 8 a.m. Sunday.

The Crucible covers a different course from The Crux, and includes kayaking, hiking, mountain climbing, mountain biking and disc golf. Check-in for The Crucible is at 6 a.m.

The C & C Sprint adventure race begins at 8 a.m. Sunday, with a check-in of 6 a.m. The race includes kayaking, running, biking and navigation.

A big event Saturday is the XTERRA Farragut triathlon, and it will have athletes from around the world competing.

It starts at noon and includes a swim, mountain biking, and trail running.

The Dual-X Duathlon, a run-bike-run event for non-swimmers, starts at noon Saturday.

The Gauntlet short-course triathlon starts at noon Saturday. Check-in is 10 a.m. for the XTERRA, Dual-X and the Gauntlet.

Sunday's action also will include the Deepwater Trail half-marathon, marathon, 50K and 50-mile runs.

The Deepwater races start at 7 a.m., with a check-in of 6 a.m.

All packet pickup, as well as start and finishes, are at ASW Central at the Sunrise area at the end of South Road in Farragut. Adlard said to look for the banners and signs.

Racers receive a meal ticket, and those tickets will be available for friends and spectators, he said.
