SPOKANE - A 22-year-old Worley resident was arrested for an alleged DUI and hit-and-run incident that occurred on the Palouse Highway on Wednesday night in southern Spokane County.

Toma N. Moses was booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of DUI, hit and run and driving while license suspended after being treated for his injuries from at least two crashes he was allegedly involved in and then fled the scene.

"Moses was extremely intoxicated and a blood draw was completed to determine his blood alcohol content," a press release from the Spokane County Sheriff's Department stated.

BAC results won't be available for about one month.

Moses was northbound on the Palouse Highway and struck two different vehicles, according to the sheriff's department.

The first crash involved a vehicle towing a boat. The driver of that vehicle was not injured.

However, the driver of the second crash, Kathy Wilkerson, 54, Valleyford, Wash., received minor injuries after Moses allegedly crossed over the centerline and sideswiped her 2008 Ford Focus, causing it to spin out and end upside down in a ditch.

Wilkerson, who works at Ponderosa Elementary in Post Falls, was at the last day of school on Friday.

Moses was driving a 1998 Chevy Tahoe.

More counts of hit and run are expected to be filed as there are more victims coming forward that still need to be contacted.

Moses' driver's license is suspended in both Idaho and Washington. He has two outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Adams and Yakima counties in Washington for DWLS, operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock and for minor operating a vehicle after alcohol consumption, a 2008 charge.

An investigation continues. Speeds and final causes of the collisions will likely be determined in two to four weeks.
