Stephen Strasburg had trouble with Cleveland's mound while lasting 5 1/3 innings during his second major league start, leading the visiting Washington Nationals over the Indians 9-4 on Sunday.

Coming off a 14-strikeout debut, Strasburg, who was bothered by loose dirt on the mound and twice requested repairs, allowed just two hits, one a home run by Travis Hafner. He struck out eight and walked five before leaving to a chorus of boos in the sixth as Washington ended Cleveland's four-game winning streak.

Cubs 1, White Sox 0: Ted Lilly took a no-hitter into the ninth before pinch-hitter Juan Pierre led off with a single, and the host Chicago Cubs held on to beat the Chicago White Sox.

Phillies 5, Red Sox 3: Cole Hamels cooled off host Boston's surging lineup with seven strong innings, helping Philadelphia beat the Red Sox.

Angels 6, Dodgers 5: Hideki Matsui had three hits and drove in two runs to lead the visiting Los Angeles Angels over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Marlins 6, Rays 1: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Chris Volstad pitched six solid innings to stop a personal six-game winless streak and Florida beat Tampa Bay.

Yankees 9, Astros 5: Jorge Posada hit a grand slam for the second straight day, Robinson Cano connected for his 100th career homer and host New York completed a three-game sweep of Houston.

Giants 6, Athletics 2: Aubrey Huff hit a pair of two-run homers to lift host San Francisco over Oakland.

Braves 7, Twins 3: At Minneapolis, Troy Glaus homered twice and tied a career high with four hits to power Atlanta past Minnesota.

Royals 7, Reds 3: Zack Greinke struck out 12 in a five-hitter, ending a four-start skid and leading visiting Kansas City over Cincinnati.

Mets 11, Orioles 4: David Wright hit two homers and visiting New York beat Baltimore for a three-game sweep.
