The Bonners Ferry City Fire Department and Paradise Valley Fire Districted teamed up for a driver’s training course on June 12.

The lead instructor was former fire chief for PVFD, Jock Johnson, who is now on the BFFD roster to help with training of BFFD firefighters.

BFFD invited the PVFD fire crew to take the class with them.

Johnson is volunteering his time to help the city fire fighters maintain training within the department. This cuts costs for the city as it does not have to pay an outside training service and Johnson has credentials in training in many areas.

“I like helping as much as I can in the community any way I can,” said Johnson.

The class consisted of 16 hours of classroom study, then the firefighters were put through a driving course with the fire trucks.

Monitoring teachers were acting PVFD Chief Doug Ladely, Jr., Ken Baker, and Allen Hamilton.
