High Desert Baseball Classic starts today

COLUMBIA BASIN — Two teams representing the River Dogs Babe Ruth baseball program begin play today in the High Desert Baseball Classic which runs through Sunday.
The River Dogs team will play in the Blue Division while Parros del Rio, a roster of younger players, will battle it out in the White Division.
Six teams are set to fight it out for the Blue Title along with the River Dogs, including the Northwest Krush, Coyotes, NC Tribe, Kitsap Baseball, and Reality Sports.
Along with Parros del Rio in the White Division will be the Kent Bulldogs, Brewster, and Team Fitness.
The tournament is scheduled to take place at Johnson/O’Brien Stadium and Boruff Field in Ephrata and Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake.
Action kicks off today with 12:30 encounters at Big Bend (NW Krush vs. Reality Sports) and Johnson/O’Brien (River Dogs vs. NC Tribe).
At 3 p.m., BBCC hosts NW Krush vs. Coyotes in that site’s final game of the day.
Also today at Johnson/O’Brien will be a 3 p.m. game between Kent-Team Fitness, followed by Parros del Rio vs. Brewster at 5:30 p.m. before the day wraps up with a NC Tribe-Reality Sports clash at 8 p.m.
