The Coeur d'Alene Police Department will host “Outdoor Movie Night” in the bandshell area of City Park July 23 at 8:30 p.m..

The evening will kick off with master of ceremonies Chief Wayne Longo welcoming families to the park. He will then introduce a Drug Free and Character Education presentation by Officer Tom Sparks, formerly of the DARE program. At twilight, the large movie screen will be filled with the lively, enchanting cartoon “Barnyard.”

Families are encouraged to bring their blankets, chairs, picnic baskets, and then sit back and enjoy the movie. The local Kiwanis are providing free popcorn.

Police officers will be in attendance meeting and greeting children.

“We are excited about hosting an event to help draw families into City Park in the early evening hours," Chief Longo said. "Our hope is this becomes a traditional event for our citizens.”
