PRIEST RIVER - A Priest River man is the subject of a $100,000 arrest warrant alleging he engaged in lewd and lascivious conduct with a 6-year-old girl.

Ted Norman Engelbrecht is also wanted for sexual abuse of a minor by solicitation for allegedly asking the same girl to perform a sex act, Priest River Police Chief Ray Roberts said on Monday.

The alleged conduct occurred over a period of one and a half to two years, Roberts said.

The arrest warrant is extraditable nationwide. The criminal case against Engelbrecht remains sealed until he makes his first court appearance.

He was a city resident at the time of the misconduct. Roberts declined to elaborate on Engelbrecht's possible whereabouts.

Engelbrecht, 44, is described as a white male weighing 185 pounds and standing six feet tall. He has brown or blond hair and hazel or green eyes, Priest River Police said.

He uses the aliases Bear, X, Norman Engelbrecht and Bear Engelbrecht. He is known to be driving a maroon 1991 Ford Ranger pickup truck with a blue canopy. The truck has Idaho tags which read 7B-E8662.

Those with knowledge of Engelbrecht's whereabouts are asked to call Roberts at (208) 448-1521 or (208) 610-8159.
