COEUR d'ALENE - The Harrison City Council will keep its public hearing open for the next two weeks on the proposed Powderhorn annexation, with the city accepting written public comments only.

The council voted at its hearing last Thursday night that members of the public can mail in comments to Harrison City Hall until the end of the business day on March 11.

Comments must relate to Powderhorn Ranch LLC's request for Harrison to annex the company's roughly 2,000 acres on Powderhorn Peninsula, where the Seattle-based business plans to develop a resort community with 1,300 homes.

In the meantime, Powderhorn has been assigned with writing another draft development agreement with the city staff.

The council set a tentative date of March 19 for Powderhorn to present the draft to council members, said city Attorney Nancy Wolff.

"I don't know whether that will happen or not," Wolff said.

She added that the council has not yet decided on a date for deliberations after the comment period closes.

Folks can review a variety of documents on the proposal at the Harrison City Hall, she said, including a draft development agreement, comment letters and copies of PowerPoint presentations.

Mail written comments to: Harrison City Hall, P.O. Box 73, 100 Frederick Ave. Harrison, ID 83833.
