COEUR d’ALENE — City election challenger Jim Brannon filed several motions Monday appealing last week’s rulings by 1st District Judge Benjamin Simpson.

One motion calls for disqualifying Simpson on ground of being biased, according to court reports.

The others include reconsidering the order to dismiss the city of Coeur d’Alene from the suit, reconsidering the bond amount of $40,000, reconsidering the protection order on Kootenai County as well as motions for an interlocutory appeal and vacating and reschedule trial.

An interlocutory appeal is an appeal of a ruling by a court that is made before the trial itself has concluded.

Simpson could determine if hearings will be held this week on the matter, according to court reports.

Kootenai County estimated it would cost $5,476 to produce the allowable documents.
