Thompson River Animal Care Shelter is holding their fourth annual spring fundraiser set for Saturday, March 20 in the community room at the Lakeside Motel in Trout Creek.

"It's going to be a really fun one this year," said Wanda Thorpe, one of the founders of TRACS and fundraiser organizer.

Every year TRACS has a new theme for their fundraiser, providing entertainment to all of their guests. Their first fundraiser in 2004 had a wild, wild west theme. The year after that was a roaring 20s theme. Last year, TRACS hosted a variety show. This year, TRACS is expanding their variety show doing songs and numbers from all decades, such as the 1940s and all the way back to the 1800s, with a guest appearance by the famous BUTTZ sisters from Sanders Couny. The majority of the entertainment will be provided by guests from Trout Creek and Thompson Falls residents.

The evening will begin with a silent auction that is showcasing an array of items including a wooden table, gift baskets, a quilt and other items. Following the silent auction will be the entertainment with Dave Oliver as the MC. The silent auction will begin at 6:30 and the entertainment will start at 7:30. Food will also be served as a snack food-buffet.

In years past, TRACS has raised between $2,500 and $2,700. Thorpe said they are hoping to exceed this amount this year. All proceeds from the variety show go towards the care of the animals.

"The entertainment last year was just superb and this year it will be even better organized and even more superb, but they have so much fun," said Thorpe.
