MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake City Council agreed to provide additional funding to the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce for services to the city.

At a previous meeting, chamber Executive Director Debbie Doran-Martinez asked the city council for more funding.

Chamber staff at the visitor center respond to tourism related phone calls and other inquires and mail out promotional material. For each item chamber staff mails, the city pays $2.80 to cover the cost of the material and shipping. According to Doran-Martinez, the money does not cover staff time.

Councilmember Brent Reese moved to increase the $2.80 to $5 per item mailed and Councilmember Richard Pearce seconded.

The motion passed unanimously.
