Music students to perform at all-state festival

Area students will participate in the Idaho Music Educators Association All-State Music Festival from Thursday through Saturday in Nampa.
Students submitted auditions last October to qualify. Groups were selected in December.
"Students have been preparing their music since January for this great performance opportunity," said Matt Barkley, Post Falls High band instructor.
About 600 of the state's top high school musicians will rehearse and perform together on the Northwest Nazarene University and Nampa High School campuses.
Post Falls will have 19 students performing, Coeur d'Alene High 17, Lake City 13, Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy 12, Lakeland five and Timberlake one.
In addition, the Post Falls Troubadors were one of nine middle school, high school and university ensembles selected to perform at the IMEA Teachers Convention while the all-state groups rehearse.
