Slaybaugh earns league honors

Whitefish senior Jessica Slaybaugh earned second team all-conference honors in the Northwestern A division for her play on the Lady Bulldogs basketball squad.

Slaybaugh led the team in scoring by averaging eight points a game, and was seventh in the league in assists. She snagged 42 steals over the season and converted 19 3-pointers.

Garnering honorable mention league honors for the Lady Bulldogs were sophomore Mariah Kanistanaux and junior Olivia Nagler.

Rehberg to attend rally for Jesus statue

Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg will attend a public rally in Whitefish on Nov. 10 in support of the World War II statue of Jesus on Big Mountain. Rehberg will be at the VFW Post 276 on Baker Avenue at 1 p.m.

Flathead Sled Dog Days is gearing up for its fifth annual dog sled race Jan. 6-8. Race organizers have partnered with the Whitefish Winter Carnival to become part of their festivities next month.
