ILLEGALS: Stop them at border

Regarding Michael T. Miller’s letter March 17, I believe that as long as the business owners keep hiring the illegals, they will continue to flood our country. The one question that bugs me is, where do their payroll taxes go? Without a valid social security number where does the payroll tax go?

Payroll taxes are required by the federal government. It is only my guess that the employer has an extra profit going on. Obviously the illegal would not complain, as it would probably jeopardize their job. Think about it. Maybe this is why politicians  are not wanting to do something to curb illegals from entering the U.S. After all, businesses support politicians. Of course the illegals are only doing work that Americans will not do, like construction, carpentry laborers, retail stocking just to mention a few. Oh, did I forgot, picking our crops also.

Per the LA Times, only 2% of known illegals actually work the fields. I truly believe that American businesses, if found with illegal employees working for them were fined enough so that it would nearly put them out of business, jobs would dry up for them. Then take welfare and medical from them.

And since the parent or parents are here illegally, babies being born on our soil would not become citizens. Take the reasons for crashing our borders and they will not come. I wonder how much money we pay in taxes to support these illegals could be saved. Costs like jails, prisons, welfare and medical. I am pretty sure the money to protect our borders would be cheaper than the support that is being spent on providing for the illegals.
