MOSES LAKE — Mario Noyola Jr., 31, Moses Lake, was arrested for rape in the first degree and incest in the first degree Wednesday night.

On Tuesday afternoon an adult female reported she was raped at knife point in her home, Grant County Undersheriff John Turley said.

Someone called 9-1-1 to report the woman was standing in the middle of the intersection of Travis Drive and Halsey Drive in Moses Lake.

When authorities arrived, they found the woman wearing only a T-shirt and wrapped in a bath towel, he explained.

“Grant County Fire District 5 responded with ambulance and transported the female to Samaritan Hospital,” Turley stated.

Deputies entered her home looking for the suspect but he was not inside.

“Major crimes detectives were summoned to assist patrol deputies and did interviews with the female victim at the hospital and gathered evidence at the crime scene and the hospital,” he explained. “Information was developed from interviews with the victim, family members of the victim and area neighborhood residents.”

It was determined the victim reportedly allowed the suspect inside her home, Turley said. Noyola allegedly told her he was locked out of his house and needed somewhere to stay.

The sheriff’s office, U.S. Marshal’s Office and Grant County major crimes detectives secured a search warrant for Noyola’s home at West Craig Street on Wednesday, he said. After several hours of negotiating and introducing a large amount of noxious gas into his home, Noyola was taken into custody.

Authorities including the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team secured the area during the incident.

Noyola is being held in Grant County Jail on $1 million bail.
