YAKIMA — Kumler Field was site of a track dual between Moses Lake, Chiawana. A.C. Davis, and Pasco High Schools Thursday and in the end the Chiefs reigned supreme.

The Moses Lake boys defeated A.C. Davis 75-70 and Chiawana 99.5 - 44.5 and fell to Pasco 98-47.

In girls’ competition, the Chiefs swept their three head-to-heads, defeating A.C. Davis (81-66), Chiawana (73-72) and Pasco (82-61).

For the Moses Lake boys, Brian Chamberlain took first in the 400-meters (53.76), while Mitchell Hill won the triple jump with a 42’1” performance.

Hill’s jump led a sweep of the top three spots in the event as Moses Lake’s Dylan Mobery (42’) and Jordan Wilks (39’8”) wrapped up second and third respectively.

Randy Koon took second  in the 200-meter run (23.71), and was a part of the second-place 4x100-meter relay team with Wilks, Hill, and Chamberlain.

Wilks took second in the Javelin (150’8”), while Lowell Kirkwood (third, 800-meters, 2:18.12), Dylan Darlington (third, 3200-meters, 11:31.91), and Hill (third, javelin, 142’) completed top finishes.

I was real proud of how our team looked for the first league meet,” Chiefs coach Kevin Whittall said. “We had some athletes beat there personnel best. We have the Ephrata invite Saturday and we are excited to stay close to home so their families can come watch.”

Moses Lake’s girls saw winning performances by Magie Munoz (200-meters , 27.51 and 400-meters, 1:03.04), Tiffany Morris (3,200-meters, 13:23), the 4x200-meter relay team (Abby Stones, Munoz, London Cleverly, and Jennifer Hassan, 1:56.23), and Jordan Loera (long jump, 16’2” and triple jump, 33’10”).

Other top three finishes include, Madison Wilks (second, triple jump, 30’3”), Kimberly Bakker (second, long jump, 15’10”), Stones (second, pole vault, 7’6”), Munoz (third, 100-meters, 13.83), Loera (third, 200-meters, 28.59), Cleverly (third, 400-meters, 1:05.11), Morris (third, 1600-meters, 5:58.05 and 300-meter hurdles, 52.95), Holly Martin (third, 3200-meters, 14:57.25), and Sadie Nielsen (third, discus, 91’2”).
