Southern Nevada sweeps NIC, hurdles Cardinals into third in SWAC

COEUR d'ALENE - The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes swept the North Idaho Cardinals 1-0 and 7-5 at Memorial Field on Friday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader.
Southern Nevada (19-13, 15-10 SWAC) moved into third place by a game and a half over NIC (21-17, 14-12) going into another doubleheader today at noon.
Southern Nevada loaded the bases in the top of the third inning and scored the lone run of the first game on a fielder's choice, scoring Katie Uriarte with two outs.
NIC left nine runners on base in the opener, five reaching on walks.
In the nightcap, Uriarte had four hits and three runs scored.
Amanda Krier had three hits and three RBIs, including a solo home run in the bottom of the first for NIC.
