COEUR d'ALENE - The College of Southern Nevada swept 20th-ranked North Idaho College for the second straight day, this time 7-2 and 5-4 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader at Memorial Field on Saturday.
Katie Uriarte had four hits and two runs for the Coyotes (21-13, 17-10 SWAC) in the opener. NIC center fielder Alyssa Hawley went 3 for 4 with one run and Juliann Hartnett hit a home run leading off the bottom of the fifth for the Cardinals (21-19, 14-14).
Hawley, Jessica Ross and Alyssa Erickson each had two hits and a run scored for NIC in the second game. Ross and Hartnett each hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first for NIC.
NIC played this weekend without shortstop Lauren Maloney. Maloney, who has signed to play at Division I Stony Brook, was attending her brother's wedding.
North Idaho travels to Snow on Friday and Saturday.
